0.1.2: Knitting in the desktop app, and brands from a website

2026-11-03

Coming soon The Download page has the newest version you can install.

  • The desktop app downloads the browser it knits with. Before, Download it did nothing, so the app could not knit.
  • The download shows how far it has got, and says why if it stops. The Knit dialog offers it the first time you knit.
  • Adding Yarn from a link works in the desktop app, and the file keeps a readable name.
  • Starting a Swatch from a website finds a brand's real colours far more often: it reads the site in its own dark or light mode and takes the primary colour from its logo. You see where each colour came from and can change it before you create the Swatch, which is not used until you say so.
  • Your model can propose a Swatch from a website, rename its own drafts and put Yarn into image slots. check_pattern warns about a style that nothing draws.
  • In Yarn, a search made just after picking a kind shows what it found, not the whole library.
  • Arrow keys on a slider move the slider. Before, they also moved the selected stitch, when scrubbing the timeline or adjusting a style.
  • Settings, About shows the version you have.
  • The desktop app sees a new version as soon as it is out: it reads the list of releases where the installers are kept, not the website's copy.
  • The Download page puts the newest version first, with every older one below it.
  • Text on the primary button stays readable when you hover over it.

0.1.1: Claude Code, pictures and updates

2026-11-03

  • Connect Claude Code from Settings, Model. One command, and it works in knitted with the same tools and locks as the in-app model.
  • A project can show a picture on its card: one of its images, chosen in Projects, in Yarn, or by your model.
  • The desktop app updates itself. It asks once whether to check, and Check for Updates is in the menu.
  • The MCP page and reference list every tool, from the server's own list.

0.1.0: Foundations

2026-11-03

  • The render engine knits a Pattern frame by frame and encodes it with ffmpeg.
  • An MCP server lets your model list projects, read a Pattern, fill slots and knit.
  • Locked stitches are enforced against models. A refused write is reported back, never skipped quietly.
  • The design system is defined as tokens and shared by the studio and this site.
  • This site, the docs and the vocabulary: Pattern, Swatch, Yarn, Stitch, Knit and Part.
